A mix-up involving a bag that had been tagged for additional screening shut down a Newark Airport security checkpoint for a half-hour yesterday, officials said.

Port Authority police said a passenger left the bag at Terminal C and walked away. Once alerted, security closed off the checkpoint and went searching for the passenger.

It took about 30 minutes to locate him, and he was allowed to continue on — with the bag.
