A 19-year-old man was charged with murdering his mother at their Long Island home — and he grinned for the cameras as he was hauled out of a police precinct Monday.

Akcel Arriaza has been charged with second-degree murder for allegedly stabbing to death his 46-year-old mother Dora Villatoro-Arriaza in a parked SUV outside their Brentwood home just after 6 a.m. Sunday, according to Suffolk County cops.

The two had been arguing at the Adams Avenue address when the suspect allegedly knifed his mom several times in the head and neck. It’s unclear what the feud was about.

“Responding officers found a woman stabbed to death inside a car. Her son surrendered himself to police as they responded,” Detective Lt. Kevin Beyrer said at a press conference on Sunday, News 12 reported.

Police said one of Villatoro-Arriaza’s daughters, who was inside the home with her two other siblings and the father, called 911.

The mother was declared dead at the scene.

The suspect was also injured in the attack and was treated at nearby hospital.

Cops believe Akcel cut himself. “He suffered a wound when he was stabbing his mother,” said Beyrer, according to Newsday.

Beyrer said there was a “very limited domestic history, all verbal disputes” at the house. But he added that neither Arriaza nor any other residents had criminal records.

The Arriazas share the home with another family, according to cops.

Akcel Arriaza was arraigned Monday at First District Court in Central Islip.

He was ordered held without bail on the second-degree murder charges.

While in police custody, the smirking suspect allegedly admitted to murdering his mom, according to prosecutors.

Akcel Arriaza’s lawyer noted that, despite the allegations, three of the son’s family members were in court Monday to show support.
