A quirky installation hit all the right notes at Lincoln Center yesterday.
Eighty-eight whimsically decorated pianos that had been placed around the city the past few weeks were gathered in the center’s plaza for the day.
The public event culminated with a two-minute evening performance of Bach’s “Prelude in C,” played simultaneously on all 88 pianos.
The pianos, part of the privately funded Sing for Hope project, will now be donated to local schools and community and health-care centers.
