The driver of a private ambulette was arrested for hitting a pedestrian as she was crossing the street in Queens on Friday, leaving her in critical condition.

The 57-year-old woman was crossing Guy R. Brewer Boulevard just before 9 a.m. when she was struck by the All Around Trans Inc. ambulette as it was making a turn from the thoroughfare onto Farmers Avenue in Springfield Gardens, police said.

The woman was unconscious when authorities arrived. She was transported to Jamaica Hospital in critical condition.

The driver of the ambulette, 61-year-old Ivan Rybiy, remained at the scene, where he was arrested. The Brooklyn man was charged with failure to yield to a pedestrian and failure to exercise due care. He was issued a desk appearance ticket, police said.

All Around Trans Inc. would not comment on the matter.
