There’s a new way sugary drinks can kill you.

American Airlines says soda and sugared coffee spilled by passengers are “gunking up” clamps that lock seat rows to the floors of its Boeing 757s.

Loose seats have led to two emergency landings at JFK Airport and dozens of canceled flights in recent days.

American has said it expects the seats to be fixed by today.
