An amateur photographer captured this amazing picture of the Empire State Building, as it was struck by lightning during Monday’s freak storm.
Lawyer Steve Buffone, from his 50th-floor office at the MetLife Building, snapped 2,277 images during the storm. Two of those pictures — taken during a 10-minute-long photo burst, from his iPhone — captured the lightning strike.
“The fact the shutter speed was fast enough, I was happily surprised,” Buffone said Tuesday. “I was pretty damn lucky.”
