HARTFORD, Conn. — Connecticut lawmakers are setting aside up to $50 million to help Newtown build a new Sandy Hook Elementary School.

The money was in a bonding bill that passed Wednesday.

Last month, a Newtown task force voted to tear down the school where 20 children and six educators were killed in December.
