Albany The looming state budget deficit “appears to be getting worse,” Gov. Cuomo warned yesterday.

Cuomo offered no specifics “but the signs are not good thus far,” he told reporters.

“It’s fair to say” that state revenue collections have “slowed down” and the projected deficit for the state fiscal year that begins on April 1 will top the $2.4 billion his administration officially forecast, Cuomo said.

He bridged a $10 billion deficit to balance the current year’s $132 billion budget.

State Comptroller Tom DiNapoli has warned that state- tax collections are lower than projected, primarily because of lower earnings on Wall Street.
