Prosecutors Thursday charged yet another MS-13 goon in connection with the murder of a Long Island 16-year-old.
Ruendy Jhonatan Hernandez-Vasquez is accused of taking part in the October 2016 group slaying of Javier Castillo, who was hacked to death with a machete after being mistaken for a rival gang member.
Hernandez-Vasquez was arraigned alongside alleged fellow gang members Jhonny “Reaper” Contreras, Reynaldo Lopez-Alvarado and Jeffrey Amador Thursday in Long Island federal court.
Contreras, Lopez-Alvarado and Ambor were facing murder charges as well, in connection with the November 2015 killing of Cesar Rivera-Vasquez. Rivera-Vasquez was bludgeoned with a baseball bat and repeatedly stabbed before his throat was slit, according to prosecutors.
All four men pleaded “not guilty” through their attorneys.
The transnational gang has now been fingered in the murders of at least 16 young people across Long Island, authorities said.
It was revealed Thursday that Interpol is seeking custody of Herdandez-Vasquez as well, believing him to be behind a murder in El Salvador.
If convicted, all men face life behind bars without the possibility of parole.
