OyPhone snag

A slow runner was arrested for snatching an iPhone out of a woman’s hand on Driggs Avenue on Aug. 10.

The woman told cops that she was talking on her phone near N. Seventh Street at about 8 pm when the thug ran up behind her and snagged the expensive device. He fled, but was no match for the marathon-worthy legs of the 94th Precinct, which caught up with him later.

iWant

Two thugs held up a man for his iPhone and cash on Havemeyer Street on Aug. 10.

The victim told cops that he was between N. Seventh and N. Eighth streets at about 1:40 am when one of the perps approached to ask for directions. Before he had time to react, a second creep approached wielding a handgun and said, “Show me what’s in your pockets.”

One of the perps took the pedestrian’s cash, iPhone and identification and the two fled.

Electro-burg

Some cretins broke into a N. 10th Street business and stole a bunch of electronics on Aug. 11.

Employees told cops that they opened the store, which is between Kent and Wythe avenues, at about 9 am to find that the front door was open and bags, cameras, a laptop and cash were missing. A security camera caught the perps — but alas, the picture was too dark to identify them.

Wallet thief

A quick-handed jerk stole a woman’s wallet inside the El Almacen restaurant on Driggs Avenue on Aug. 14.

The victim told police that she left her purse at the bar and went to the bathroom in the restaurant, which is near N. Seventh Street, at about 5:30 pm. When she returned, she noticed that her wallet, cash and credit cards were missing. A security camera on scene caught the alleged thief standing next to the purse and then leaving without making a purchase, but no arrests have been made yet.

Subway steal

A straphanger stole the contents of a woman’s purse when she wasn’t looking on the L train at the Bedford Avenue stop on Aug. 15.

The woman told cops that she left the station, which is near N. Seventh Street, at about 12:30 pm, and noticed that her wallet, credit cards and identification were missing from her purse. She didn’t notice the theft at the time, but later found that someone had made several purchases on her credit cards.

Bad apples

Two thugs were arrested on Aug. 14 for punching a victim in the face, then making off with his iPhone on Manhattan Avenue.

The victim told cops that he was near Green Street at about 4 am when the two perps approached. One of them grabbed his cellphone while the other hit him on the left side of the face, and then the two fled. Cops later caught up with and collared the jerks.

Three on one

Three perps pushed a victim to the ground, then stole a cellphone and credit cards on McGuinness Boulevard on Aug. 14.

The victim said that he was near Norman Avenue at around 1:50 am when the three thugs shoved him to the ground, injuring his elbow and knee. Then one of the jerks took his phone, credit, and debit cards before the trio fled on foot.

Cell theft

Three perps were arrested for assaulting and stealing an iPhone from a woman on Skillman Avenue on Aug. 14.

The woman told cops she was walking near Humboldt Street, talking on her phone at around 8:30 pm, when one of the jerks snatched the fancy phone out of her hand. A tug of war ensued, but the perps were able to get away with her phone. Luckily, cops caught up with the jerks and arrested them.

Took everything

Some technology-loving swindlers took just about every expensive piece of electronic equipment from a Conselyea Street apartment while the tenants were out to dinner on Aug. 15.

The victims told cops that they returned to the home, which is near Manhattan Avenue, at about 8 pm to find their front door busted open and their TV, laptops, a iPhones missing.

Car thefts

Hijackers stole three cars in Greenpoint over the past week:

• Some jerk stole a 2008 Toyota Tundra from Diamond Street near Norman Avenue overnight on Aug. 11. The victim said that she arrived at the spot at about 7 am and realized that the vehicle was missing.

• An auto thief was arrested after he stole a 2002 Ford truck from Anthony Street between Morgan and Vandervoort avenues on Aug. 13. Somehow, the victim found his truck in the perp’s possession at about 4:33 am the next morning, and cops made the arrest.

• Someone stole a 1997 Honda CRV from Jackson Street near Woodpoint Road on Aug. 11. The owner came back to the spot four days later at 11 am and noticed that the car was missing.
