The upstate congressman became the third New York politician this week to become ensnared in an ethical scandal.

Amid reports from Politico and elsewhere that Massa is being looked at by the House ethic committee over complaints he sexually harassed a male staffer, the one-term congressman is retiring.

“Given the timing, it’s an unimaginable week,” said one Democratic insider familiar with New York politics.
