Armed thugs stole thousands of dollars from a famed hip-hop producer in Midtown this morning, police said.

Scott Storch,39, and two other men had just jumped into a cab near the Palace Hotel on Madison Avenue when they were confronted by two men with guns at 6:55 a.m., law enforcement sources said.

They forced Storch to give up a briefcase that had about $4,500 inside,officials said. The armed bandits also stole a watch and necklace from the music mogul, before fleeing in a nearby SUV, police said.

The gunmen were both described as black men between 25 and 35, law enforcement sources said. One of them is about 6-foot-4, weighing between 250 pounds and 280 pounds, with dreads and a beard. His partner wore dark jeans and grey shirt.

Storch has worked with some of the biggest names in music, including Dr. Dre, 50 Cent, Snoop, Beyonce, Christina Aguilera, Pink and Jessica Simpson.
