Arrest in ’93 slay
Cops have made an arrest in a 19-year-old homicide case — and brought the accused killer back from the Caribbean to face justice, police said yesterday.
Angel Guridy-Cabral, 51, was charged with second-degree murder for allegedly stabbing Altagracia Valdez, 24, to death in The Bronx on March 16, 1993.
The woman was found dead on her living-room floor on Gerard Avenue with her 2-year-old son by her side.
Guridy-Cabral, a livery cabdriver, became a suspect in 1999, cops said. In 2008, he was linked to DNA found on the victim’s body. After further investigation, he was indicted in 2010.
After he was finally located in the Dominican Republic, Guridy-Cabral was extradited to the United States yesterday.
Cops said they suspect Guridy-Cabral in three other unsolved homicides and rapes.
