A gallery’s worth of modern pop art was pilfered from a downtown Manhattan apartment, police said.
The theft, which occurred last month but only made public today, appeared to be the work of sophisticated burglars who broke through a hallway wall and removed surveillance cameras, police said.
In addition, to limited edition prints by Andy Warhol and Roy Lichtenstein and an original Carl Fudge oil painting, the thieves took high-end watches and jewelry, police said.
Police, who did not disclose the identity of the victim, believe the theft occurred between Nov. 24 and Nov. 28.
