State Sen. Kevin Parker’s assault trial was postponed yesterday after the Brooklyn DA’s Office revealed that the son of Parker’s political foe is one of its prosecutors.
The embarrassing revelation came just days before Parker was to be tried in Brooklyn Supreme Court for attacking a Post photographer in a May 2009 meltdown.
Judge Neil Firetog said he would engage a special prosecutor to examine why the junior ADA, Wynton Sharpe, had failed to inform superiors that his father, Wellington Sharpe, was opposing Parker in the Sept. 14 primary.
