An Australian investment banker based in New York was kicked off two separate Sydney-bound flights, at least once after refusing to turn off his cellphone, authorities said.
In the first incident, Alan James, a former Citigroup exec who is now a managing director with the Macquaries Group, was booted from a Qantas jet at JFK Airport for failing to follow the crew’s instructions.
The next day, James wasn’t allowed on a Los Angeles-to-Sydney flight for reasons not immediately made clear, The Sydney Morning Herald reported.
Finally, after another day passed, he was allowed to board a flight back to Australia on May 24.
