Baboon back in custody
The escaped baboon who went on a wild run through the suburbs of New Jersey was finally nabbed yesterday at a horse farm.
The approximately 2-year-old female was brought down at about 2:30 p.m. with a tranquilizer dart on the Hosie Hay and Straw horse farm in Howell Township — and then taken to Six Flags Great Adventure theme park in Jackson, from where it’s believed she escaped.
The park has about 150 baboons in its drive-through safari.
“We have a lot of horses but this is our first baboon,” said Jim Hosie.
“It was one hell of a way to take a coffee break.”
The baboon was spotted Friday night at a golf course, but trappers missed her with a dart, and she vanished into the woods.
