Buffalo is experiencing a baby boom — almost exactly nine months after last season’s historic snowstorm left many Western New Yorkers stuck at home.

“Snowvember” — as the blizzard was called — pummeled the area around Mercy Hospital, where officials are now bringing in extra staff and cribs to meet the demand.

Catholic Health, which runs Mercy, expects about a 25 to 30 percent increase in births.
