The baby-faced, 16-year-old kid charged with allegedly shooting Bronx teen Vada Vasquez was ordered behind bars with no bail along with four of his cohorts.
Zelita Mighty couldn’t hold back tears after a judge charged her son, Carvett Gentles, with attempted murder and ordered him back in jail for allegedly shooting Vasquez, 15, outside her Morrisania high school on Monday.
Prosecutors claim Gentles, who stood in silence during his arraignment, confessed to firing the .40-caliber gun.
Mighty refused to answer questions from reporters as she left the courthouse.
Also ordered held without bail were Rohan Francis, 18; Cleve Smith, 20; Clivie Smith, 19; and Dwayne Taylor, 23. Police said all of them are members of a violent street gang known as the Gorilla Stone Blood.
Prosecutors said the suspects, who were also charged with assault and criminal possession of a weapon, had targeted Tyrone Creighton, 19, after his brothers got involved in a fight at the Rikers Island jail. He has a bullet lodged in his lung.
Vasquez remains in a medically-induced coma at Lincoln Hospital after the bullet struck her in the head.
