Bad birthday wishes
A bullet ripped through a teen’s wrist as he celebrated his 17th birthday last week.
Police were told that the victim and a friend were walking through Canarsie looking to meet up with other friends to celebrate the occasion at about 8 p.m. on October 1 when he noticed a man dressed all in black staring at him from across East 95th Street near Avenue J.
Feeling that something was wrong, the victim said that he and his friend bolted, just as the stranger pulled a gun and opened fire.
Police said that a bullet hit the victim in the wrist as he scrambled to escape. He was taken to an area hospital, where he was treated and released.
Cops were still looking for the shooter as this paper went to press.

Robbed of cell
An area teen was robbed of his cell phone when he was jumped by three “friendly” thieves on Flatlands Avenue near East 81st Street.
Police were told that the victim was nearing the corner at 8:50 p.m. on September 29 when the three suspects approached.
“What’s cracking, son?” one of the thugs asked before demanding that the victim hand over everything he had.
Before he could respond, the thieves snatched the cell phone and ran off with it.
Responding officers apprehended two of the suspects and recovered the phone, which was found in “close proximity” to where they were apprehended.
The suspects, identified as 16-year-old Anthony Wright and 17-year-old Jermaine Walters, were charged with robbery in the second degree, grand larceny, petit larceny, menacing and harassment.
Surrounded and cut
A young area man had his back cut open after he was jumped by nine suspects on Avenue K this week.
The victim said that he was nearing East 101st Street at 5 p.m. on September 29 when the unidentified suspects targeted him.
Officials said that the victim was “kicked and punched about the body and cut with an unknown object about the back.”
The victim suffered a few cuts to the back, but was otherwise unharmed.
Responding officers apprehended one of the nine suspects.
The alleged assailant, identified as 16-year-old Rushid Forrester, was charged with attempted gang assault, menacing and criminal possession of a weapon.
Cops were looking for the other suspects as this paper went to press.
Bike thief busted
Cops have apprehended an 18-year-old in connection with a bicycle theft that took place in mid-July.
Officials alleged that Donneil Hudson and another suspect jumped a bicyclist at the corner of Seaview Avenue and East 87th Street at 8 p.m. on July 19.
The victim alleged that two men grabbed him, pulled him off his bike and punched him before running off with his wheels.
Officials said that Hudson’s alleged accomplice was arrested a short time after the theft.
Hudson was taken into custody last week, charged with robbery in the second degree, assault, petit larceny and criminal possession of stolen property.
Hot Wheels renegade
A 41-year-old man was arrested last week after he allegedly swiped a set of Hot Wheels cars from a local Toys R’ Us store and then led workers on a break-neck race for the exit.
Police said that Michael Degennaro was charged with robbery in the second degree, assault and petit larceny after he allegedly fought off workers at the Marine Park Toys R’ Us on Flatbush Avenue near Floyd Bennett Field.
Workers told responding officers that they spotted Degennaro allegedly take the Hot Wheels cars from a shelf and put them in his pants.
He allegedly made a hasty escape to the door, but store employees intervened before he could reach the parking lot.
Police were told that Degennaro allegedly pushed aside two employees, leaving one of the men with a cut arm.
Employees ultimately chased Degennaro out of the store and flagged down a police car.
Cops stopped the 41-year-old, recovered the stolen property rolled him off to the 63rd Precinct without incident, officials said.
Over-caffienated
A 34-year-old Flatlands woman was arrested on assault charges Thursday after she allegedly attacked another woman with a hot cup of coffee.
Police said that Seetamat Nagassar was arguing with the victim, described by police as an acquaintance, at an address on Flatbush Avenue near Avenue J at 7:50 a.m. on October 2 when she allegedly threw her coffee into the other woman’s face.
The woman suffered some pain and numbness, but was not seriously burned, officials said.
Responding officers charged Nagassar with assault in the third degree, criminal possession of a weapon, menacing and harassment.
Shot following party
A 20-year-old man was shot in the back after he left a party near the corner of East 92nd Street and Conklin Avenue Saturday.
Police were told that the victim had just left the party and was nearing the corner at 4 a.m. on September 26 when an unidentified gunman opened fire.
The victim was rushed to Brookdale Hospital with a bullet wound to the back. He was listed in good condition as this paper went to press. It was unclear he was targeted.

Wounded outside grocery
Police rushed to a grocery store on East 93rd Street and Avenue M Thursday after a 19-year-old was shot in the back.
The victim was reportedly hanging out by the store at 8 p.m. on September 24 when an unidentified male put him in his sights and opened fire.
The victim was reportedly recuperating at an area hospital, although sources said that he was not cooperating with the investigation.
The man who shot him was still at large as this paper went to press, officials said.
