Bag suit flies on
A judge has rejected American Airlines’ bid to jettison a Manhattan man’s lost-luggage suit.
Ernest Demel wants more than $55,000 in damages for a bag he claims the airline lost in 2008. American claimed its ticket jacket warned Demel the liability limit was $2,800.
But the Manhattan federal judge put the burden on American to prove the passenger was aware of the limit.
