Bail was set Friday for a New Jersey nurse arrested in connection with the deaths of her two toddlers — whose bodies were so badly beaten two years ago that they’d suffered internal bleeding, police said.
Jade Spencer, 33, of Bloomfield, was stoic as she was walked into a Bronx courtroom, where she faced manslaughter and assault charges.
“She was supposed to protect them,” prosecutor Jill Starishevsky said in court. “Yet she was their biggest threat.” Olivia, 2, and Micah, 3, died minutes apart in July 2017.
Judge Audrey Stone ordered Spencer held on a $250,000 bond, or $100,000 cash bail.
