Heavy D was recalled yesterday amid laughter and tears at a star-studded service that included Jay-Z and Will Smith — and words of encouragement for his family from President Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama.

“We extend our heartfelt condolences . . . He will be remembered for his infectious optimism and many contributions to American music,” read a letter from the Obamas, as quoted by the Rev. Al Sharpton at the 2 1/2-hour service at the Grace Baptist Church in Mount Vernon, the Jamaican-American rapper’s hometown.

Xea Myers, the 11-year-old daughter of the performer born Dwight Errington Myers, said her father “is still here, not in the flesh but in the spirit.”

Heavy D, 44, collapsed in Beverly Hills and died on Nov. 8 from what his family has said were complications from pneumonia.
