This bank robbery was definitely not safe.
A man who robbed a Queens bank was in critical condition Saturday after falling from an elevated subway platform during an ill-fated escape, police said.
Cops were called to a Santander Bank on Broadway near 37th Street in Astoria at about 12:20 p.m. after a man passed a note to a cashier demanding money, police said.
After making off with an unknown amount of money, the unidentified thief, whose age was not known, fled into the nearby N/W elevated subway station to hide from swarming cops, authorities said.
Officers canvassing the neighborhood spotted him in the station and chased him to the end of the platform, where he tried to escape by climbing down a support pole — but lost his grip and fell onto the sidewalk below.

He suffered head trauma and was taken to NYC Health & Hospitals/Elmhurst in critical condition, officials said.
Video obtained by The Post shows emergency responders removing a knife, MetrocCard and credit cards from the scene.
It was not clear whether the loot from the man’s ill-fated cash-grab was immediately recovered.
