A homeless bank robber gave himself the gift of distraction, leaving a fake, gift-wrapped “bomb” at one Bronx bank — so he could go rob another while police investigated the suspicious package.

Anthony Bari, 56, left a hard plastic case covered in birthday wrapping paper at the Citibank in Pelham Bay Thursday morning, telling an employee the box was for an assistant bank manager, police said.

But the “present” included a nasty note.

“This is not a robbery. This is an act of vengeance against Citicorp. They cost me everything. This box is an explosive device and will detonate in five minutes,” the note read.

Police swooped in, but found the box only contained reams of paper.

Just 45 minutes after he visited the bank, Bari walked into a Citibank in Throggs Neck, allegedly brandished a gun and demanded cash from a worker, cops said.

But the quick-thinking alleged robber wasn’t fast enough to make a clean getaway — cops nabbed him at the scene.

Bari was charged with attempted robbery, criminal possession of a weapon, attempted terrorist threats and placing a false bomb or hazardous substance.
