Charles Barron says there’s not enough diversity on this year’s state Democratic ticket — so he’ll run for governor as a protest.
The African-American councilman yesterday said he was concerned not only that Attorney General Andrew Cuomo chose a white male, Rochester Mayor Robert Duffy, as his running mate but also that every Democrat running statewide this year is white.
He said he would try to create a ballot line for the New York Freedom Democratic Party and run on its ticket.
But first, he’ll need 50,000 signatures — just to create the line.
Cuomo’s campaign declined comment.
