The operator of a short-lived Battery Park City outdoor skating rink is claiming that its business was put on ice by a series of construction mishaps at the new Goldman Sachs headquarters and two nearby apartment buildings.
Rink Management Services Corp.’s Manhattan federal court suit alleges that falling construction materials from building sites — including a sheet of steel and a large glass window pane — scared away customers and forced it to go out of business after its inaugural season in 2010.
The suit seeks unspecified damages.
