Beach-blanket cinema
Pack popcorn with the sun block — Coney Island’s world-famous beach is set to become a major movie venue Monday.
The city plans to set up a 40-foot screen off West 10th Street along the amusement district’s sandy beachfront for a free summer film series.
The first showing is as Brooklyn as it gets: Disco-era super-hit “Saturday Night Fever.”
The gala event will kick off at 7 p.m. and feature impersonators of John Travolta’s famed character Tony Manero. The film starts at 8:30 p.m. sharp.
The series will run Mondays through Aug. 29.
