INDIANAPOLIS — Two 22- foot-long steel support beams from the World Trade Center’s twin towers are headed to Indianapolis to form the centerpiece of a downtown 9/11 memorial.

First a semi will transport the beams, draped in the US flag, to Richmond, Ind., today for a ceremony.

Then the beams will be escorted by State Police and 2,000 to 5,000 motorcyclists to Indianapolis for an afternoon ceremony at the Indiana War Memorial.
