EAST WINDSOR, N.J. — Officials have removed a black bear that climbed a tree at a New Jersey Turnpike exit.

TV footage showed a firefighter and state officials fist-pump as they finished wrestling the tranquilized bruin into a fire department’s ladder truck.

State Police Sgt. Stephen Jones says the bruin was first spotted on the shoulder of the toll road at 8:12 a.m. Friday.

The incident slowed southbound traffic near Interchange 8 in East Windsor.
