The Beastie Boys say they never gave the makers of Monster energy drinks a license to ill.

The famed New York hip-hop group sued the Monster Beverage Corp. in Manhattan federal court yesterday for allegedly stealing their tunes to create a promotional video and downloadable audio file.

The California-based company didn’t return a call for comment.
