One of the cops being sued in Brooklyn federal court by the family of Sean Bell says he did nothing wrong and wants the judge to drop his name from the suit.

Bell was killed in a fusillade of police bullets on his wedding day outside a Queens strip club in November 2006 when cops thought someone in his car had a gun.

Officer Michael Carey shot three rounds at Bell’s passenger, Joseph Guzman, his lawyer said in a filing yesterday, when he believed that his life and the lives of his fellow officers were in danger.

Because Carey followed police procedure to the letter, his lawyer argues, he should be immune from liability in the case.

“Officer Carey did nothing wrong in the matter. In fact, he did everything right,” wrote his lawyer, Richard Signorelli. “That’s why he should be dismissed from the case.”
