Bellevue Hospital had to divert patients this morning after electrical problems caused a computer outage, authorities said.

The hospital began diverting all patients, except those seeking psychiatric services about 12:45 a.m., according to an FDNY spokesman. EMS had been sending people to other area hospitals until about 9:45 a.m., when Bellevue began to accept patients again.

A spokesperson for Bellevue Hospital could not immediately be reached.

The hospital fully re-opened on Feb. 7 after Hurricane Sandy, offering ambulance and trauma services. They were evacuated for the first time in its history during the superstorm.
