Ben & Jerry hit streets
Ben & Jerry’s is rolling into Mr. Softee’s territory.
The duo’s new ice-cream truck, which arrives in Manhattan Monday, will undercut the competition by giving its scoops away.
The freewheeling promotion from the well-heeled hippies, who hail from Long Island, celebrates the 25th anniversary of their “New York Super Fudge Chunk,” spokesman Jay Curley said.
Each day through July 4, the truck will hit hot spots around the city such as the Museum of Modern Art and Prospect Park, but on Wednesdays New Yorkers can call the truck to their block via Twitter.
“If someone asks, we will try to head their way,” Curley said.
