It’s the end of the world as we know it — and Bernie Sanders feels hungry.

The Democratic presidential candidate returned to his native Brooklyn on Sunday, where he scarfed down franks in Coney Island with wife Jane and former REM frontman Michael Stipe.

The alterna-rock star — and vegetarian restaurant owner — loves Sen. Sanders so much that he was willing to feel the heartburn by tucking into one of Nathan’s Famous franks himself.

Earlier, Stipe introduced Sanders — who will face Hillary Clinton in the April 19 New York primary — to about 2,000 supporters, saying his “moral compass is due north, and that’s just what we need to do right now.”
