The wife of accused wingnut pilot Clayton Osbon thanked his JetBlue colleagues yesterday for their swift action during the captain’s midair meltdown.

Connye Osbon said, in a statement released by JetBlue, that her husband would never intentionally harm anyone and apologized for the “awful situation” he created aboard Flight 191 last week.

“It is our belief, as Clayton’s family, that while he was clearly distressed, he was not intentionally violent toward anyone,” Connye Osbon said.

Osbon went berserk in the cabin of the JFK-to-Las Vegas flight, forcing the co-pilot to locked him out of the cockpit, witnesses said.

He screamed incoherently about religion and terrorists, before he was restrained by passengers.

The flight landed in Amarillo, Texas, where Osbon was carted off to a hospital.
