Bid to boot thug tenants
ALBANY — Local prosecutors want to give landlords a hand taking out the trash.
Under a bill sponsored by state Sen. Jeff Klein (D-Bronx) and backed by city district attorneys, prosecutors would be granted powers to help landlords evict drug dealers and prostitutes, The Post has learned.
Landlords who try to evict criminals often fear physical retribution and lengthy delays, bill proponents say.
