Maybe this statuette is snakebit.
A Manhattan rock ‘n’ roll auction house is being called on the carpet for putting the Grammy Award that Stevie Wonder won for his 1973 hit “Superstition” on the block.
Gotta Have It! Collectibles has the award on sale with a minimum starting bid of $12,000 in an auction featuring more than 1,000 items from a variety of other superstars, including The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Prince and others.
But the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences has gone to court to try to prevent the sale of the Grammy, accusing Gotta Have It! Collectibles and company owner Pete Siegel of fraud, unjust enrichment, false advertising, conversion and other charges.
It’s unclear how Wonder lost the Grammy in the first place.
