Vice President Joe Biden will lead mourners at the funeral Wednesday for Sen. Frank Lautenberg of New Jersey.
The service will be held at New York’s Park Avenue Synagogue. Lautenberg died Monday at age 89.
Former Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton, Sen. Robert Menendez of New Jersey and Lautenberg’s family will also deliver eulogies.
At a color guard ceremony, his casket will be transferred Wednesday afternoon to an Amtrak train at the Frank Lautenberg Rail Station in Secaucus, en route to Washington.
The casket will arrive at the US Capitol on Thursday and lie in repose in the Senate chamber.
Lautenberg was the last World War II veteran serving in the Senate. He will be buried Friday at Arlington National Cemetery.
