A motorcylist was killed early this morning after he lost control and was thrown from his bike on the Belt Parkway in Starrett City, police said.

The man’s body was found in the left westbound lane of the parkway near the Pennsylvania Avenue exit just after 3:30 a.m., a short distance from the 2009 Yamaha motorcycle from which he had apparently been thrown.

The man’s name and age were not immediately released. Police said he suffered head injuries and was pronounced dead on the scene.

There is no criminality suspected in the crash.
