A spectacular bike crash kicked off the start of the Red Hook Criterium race for a second year in a row, shows a new Instagram video.

One rider falling on a turn at the Saturday night 5K race caused a massive wreck as cyclist after cyclist piled up on top of each other.

The video posted by Sawyer Adventure Club shows dozens of cyclists zooming through the starting gate when suddenly a couple of riders crash and about two dozen speeding bikes all smash to the ground an on top of each other behind them. Some of the riders quickly pop back up and continue on the race while others seem more stunned and struggle to untangle their bikes and right themselves.

It was unclear whether the crash led to any injuries.

A stalled motorcycle caused a similar pileup at the beginning of the 2016 night race.

It was the tenth annual Red Hook Crit. The race is also held in Milan, Barcelona, and London.
