Bill T. flexes mu$cle
Bill Thompson’s campaign for mayor is showing some financial life.
Thompson raised more than $1 million in contributions over the past six months, dispelling notions he can’t generate the resources to win the Democratic nod.
Council Speaker Christine Quinn, a front-runner in polls, raised $473,000 during the same period. But Quinn had already raised substantially more than Thompson and reached the maximum spending limit to fully fund a primary and runoff election.
Among other mayoral hopefuls, Public Advocate Bill de Blasio raised $725,000 and Comptroller John Liu raised $522,000 over the past six months.
