The safest bet of the century is that the Finance Department won’t be collecting $33,395.18 in overdue property and water taxes from a certain Mario A. Procaccino at Room 702 of the Municipal Building.
Procaccino, who was a mayoral candidate and city comptroller in the 1960s, died in 1995.
Finance Department spokesman Owen Stone said that when delinquent properties are scheduled for a lien sale, it is required to notify both the owner and “anyone who had any interest in the property.”
