Mayor Bloomberg fired back yesterday at critics of his budget cuts by demanding to know where they were when his administration was fighting to get more state aid from Albany.

Speaking of a massive demonstration against the cuts Thursday in lower Manhattan, Bloomberg said, “It would be fascinating to see how many state legislators were there, given they approved the budget.”

Two days ago, the mayor questioned why the union-backed protesters were attacking him for not supporting higher taxes on the wealthy when Gov. Cuomo has flatly ruled them out.
