Heavy rains caused massive flooding Sunday night, stalling railways and stranding drivers throughout the five boroughs.
In Queens, all lanes of the Long Island Expressway were temporarily closed at Utopia Parkway as traffic delays stalled the Cross Island Parkway near Northern Boulevard. In Brooklyn, the BQE was backed up for miles near Morgan Avenue.
Staten Islanders faced suspended train service between the Eltingville and Tottenville stations. The LIRR’s Port Washington line was also temporarily suspended.
