A fire roared through a Queens home today, shooting choking smoke and flames from the second story of the wood-frame house — but two people inside escaped with just minor injuries, authorities said.
The blaze erupted at 9:54 a.m. at 51-56 47th St. in Maspeth — a tidy neighborhood alongside two busy freeways — and firefighters brought the fire under control 40 minutes later.
A man and woman who lived inside the semi-detached house were taken to Elmhurst Hospital for treatment.
Seven firefighters also suffered minor injuries, officials said.
The fire was contained to the top floor, though damage extended throughout the home. The cause was under investigation.
