Candles ignited the inferno that tore through a Staten Island home, killing a father and injuring his 9-year-old son, police said Sunday.

Anthony Carter, 62, was killed in the blaze at his home at 59 Pembrook Loop just before 11 p.m., police said.

His son was taken to Staten Island North Hospital with minor burns and smoke inhalation.

The fire remains under investigation.
