A city councilman wants to pull the plug on selling “e-cigarettes” to kids.
Peter Vallone Jr. (D-Queens) is pushing a bill that would ban stores from selling electronic cigarettes — which look like regular cigs but have to be charged like a cellphone and do not contain tobacco — to anyone under 18 years old.
“They contain nicotine, which is an extremely harmful substance, and should not be in the hands of kids,” Vallone said. “Minors aren’t even supposed to be smoking.”
