Blood freed ‘to shoot’
A Bloods gang member — who convinced a Bronx jury that he needed to carry a loaded gun for protection — has been arrested on attempted murder charges for shooting a man, cops said.
Last April, Kenny Tavarez, 22, walked free on a 2008 weapons charge because a jury deadlocked after hearing the gun-toting Blood had been shot twice in the six months leading up to his arrest.
A judge declared a mistrial.
The case was adjourned and Tavarez was out on $2,500 bond when cops said he shot man in the neck in Hunts Point on Oct 1.
He was arrested Nov. 6 and has been hit with charges including attempted murder.
