ALBANY — An early list of proposals from a task force charged with redesigning New York state’s Medicaid system, the most expensive in the nation, seeks to charge hospitals and nursing homes more as a way to cut costs.

The $750 million charge over two years is one of 49 items listed by Gov. Cuomo’s Medicaid task force.

Each will be examined by the panel of experts.

A spokesman for the health-care facilities says that will force layoffs and reduced services.

Cuomo spokesman Josh Vlasto says no proposal is favored at this point over any of the other hundreds of ideas to reduce the state’s expenses.
